Scientists Say We May Be “Hard Wired” to Believe in Creationism
March 2, 2009 Christian Life Issues No CommentsA study I read recently infers that if questioned in a “rapid fire” manner on basic questions about natural selection and creation, essentially before one have a chance to “think about it;” people tend to answer in a way that implies that they innately believe in a “cause and effect” in creation. That is, they infer that there is a “higher power” that is guiding, creating and directing a purpose for life. The scientists in the study essentially said that since people have an innate “belief” in creationism, that we need to work harder to train people out of this belief. Riiight!
I am reminded of this portion of Scripture:
“Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written. The just shall live by faith.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools”
Yes, “nature” does show us that there is a God… and that we may be “innately wired” to believe that, doesn’t surprise me! Sounds like a scientific “discovery” of the truth of God’s Word!
