A Serious Setback For Our Christian Freedoms!

2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.”

A lot of Christians fail to realize that there really ARE “unreasonable and wicked men” that want to stop the Gospel, and deny us our right to pray in Jesus’ Name, even in public. But there are. And, we need need to pray that “the Word of the Lord may have free course.” It is especially sad, to me, that right here, in good ol’ North Carolina, such a monsterous thing could come about! PRAY! (In Jesus’ Name!)

Supreme Court Rejects NC County ‘Jesus’ Prayer Appeal

“The United States Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal from a North Carolina county government regarding a lower court decision barring sectarian prayer at its meetings.

The Board of Commissioners for Forsyth County, N.C., will not be allowed to appeal a decision by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals against its prayer policy. Although the decision still allows prayers at the board’s meetings, they must now be nonsectarian.

‘I am very disappointed in the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to deny review of our prayer lawsuit,’ said Debra L. Conrad, vice chair of the board, to The Christian Post.

‘No elected official ever gave a sectarian prayer. We had an open door policy.’

Alliance Defense Fund Senior Counsel David Cortman, who was one of the attorneys representing Forsyth County, said that the Supreme Court’s decision would result in less inclusiveness rather than more.

‘The irony is that the Fourth Circuit’s decision will now result in the exclusion of many people with devout religious belief simply because of the way they pray,’ said Cortman.

In 2007, Americans United for Separation of Church and State and the American Civil Liberties Union sued the Forsyth County Commission on behalf of Forsyth residents who said they were offended by hearing prayers that referenced Jesus Christ or other deities.

By a vote of two to one, a three judge panel agreed in 2011 with a district court’s ruling against the board’s prayer policy.

Joe Conn, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, told CP that the Supreme Court’s decision to not hear the case was not surprising since it “only takes a small fraction of the cases that come before it.”

The President Has A God-Free Holiday

Christian Political Views No Comments

This past Thursday, on Thanksgiving, the President reflected on his “luck” rather than being thankful to God. I find it interesting that the word “luck” and the word “lucifer” come from the same root word. There is no such thing as “luck;” there is Blessing from our Father God. Perhaps the President is mired in superstition. I choose to have a life based on the Word of God!

Obama’s God-less Thanksgiving Speech Draws Ire

“Angry reactions are pouring in from across America and beyond after President Barack Obama chose not to thank God but referred to ‘luck’ during his Thanksgiving address in defiance of the holiday tradition’s purpose as established by President George Washington in 1789.

Obama omitted religious references in his three-minute speech although Thanksgiving is ‘a holiday traditionally steeped in giving thanks and praise to God,’ said Fox News Radio host Todd Starnes.

‘The president said his family was ‘reflecting on how truly lucky we are,” he added. ‘For many Americans, though, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on how blessed and thankful they are.’

In his speech, Obama said his family would spend the day ‘eating great food, watching a little football, and reflecting on how truly lucky we are.’

‘Somebody ought to remind Obama that when Americans sit down around a meal today and give thanks, they give thanks to God,’ said The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s columnist Sherman Frederick.

Proclaiming the first national day of public thanksgiving, George Washington, America’s first president who also presided over the writing of the Constitution, said, ‘Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor… a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God…’”

Our first President understood what being thankful to God is all about, it is sad that our current President does not.

Rev. Randall Grier’s Message to America

Rev. Randall Grier is a Rhema Graduate, and a powerful preacher and teacher of the Word of Faith! He just sent out this message to his mailing list…

THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS OF THE UNITED STATES

I realize that focusing on or praying the problem is not the way to solve them. I only mention them to identify them so a specific solution can be found.

Problems: The U.S. has problems in the political, economic, social arena’s and in the church.

Political - We have a president who does not believe in Christianity and has declared that we are no longer a Christian Nation. We have the Republican party and Democratic party who are at a stalemate in making the right decisions because it might make their party look weak or bad. The other big problem is there is no decision that can be made that will not cause more suffering for the people of the U.S.. There is no easy, simple, magic solution because we have too many problems. Solving the problems would require much sacrifice on the part of the American people and the nation.

Economic - The U.S. just hit the 15 Trillion dollar debt mark, which we will never be able to repay. We do not have the ability to repay the debt and meet our normal operating expenses as a nation, without cutting out many free programs and legitimate government operations that are presently being paid by our tax money. The social security money has already been spent by the policies of the U.S. Loss of human life through abortion of millions of babies that would have paid into the system has also greatly affected the program.

Social - Our society has been on a moral and spiritual decline for about 64 years. Situational Ethics has taken the place of the Holy Bible. Situational Ethics simply says that there is no absolute right or wrong. This makes it fine to break agreements and contracts that both parties have originally decided was right. That is why divorce has skyrocketed in the nation and in the church. Many sermons are preached based on situational ethics from the pulpits of America today. The words are not used but grace makes it okay to do anything and live anyway you want and still be right with God. God is declared to understand your sin and he accepts you and does not require any change.

Riots and disturbances - The U.S. is filled with riots, protests and disturbances today. Civil disobedience is being allowed by our government. Many law enforcement officials are not allowed to make people obey the laws of the federal, state and local governments. Many in authority have declared that what is going on is fine.

Church - My heart aches for the church of the Lord Jesus Christ because that is where the solution to the problems of the U.S. will be found. The Word of God has the answer to all the problems of the United States of America. That is why Satan has infiltrated the church with his seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Doctrines of devils are being preached as the Word of God in some churches of the U.S. Homosexuality, lesbianism, lust, love of the world and it’s entertainment, among many other ungodly things are being declared as approved by the Bible. As goes the church in a nation, so goes the nation. The church has the ability to cause a nation to turn to or away from the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ. When the church fails to obey the Bible, the nation will fail to obey the Bible and become ungodly. I know there is the five-fold ministry and Christians who have similar views as mine and I am blessed by your faithfulness to what is right. Together we can make a difference in our nation through prayer, preaching the Word of God and not giving up. Deuteronomy chapter 28 will give you insight as to why we have the problems in our nation and what we can do to change it for the better.

WHAT THE CHURCH CAN DO

Prayer: I was leading a prayer meeting for our nation a couple of days ago. The Holy Spirit inspired me to plead for the survival of the U.S. (Isaiah 43:26 & Rom. 8:26) I found myself pleading for America like Moses pled for Israel. (Exodus 32:7-35) God was going to destroy Israel because they had made a golden calf and was worshiping it as their god. They learned that from being in Egypt, and it represents them worshiping demons and devils instead of the true living God. Moses pleaded for them and asked the Lord not to destroy them for their sin. Moses told the Lord that the Egyptians would think He was not big enough to bring them to total victory if He destroyed them.

America - I found myself pleading for America in the same way. I reminded the Lord that He had founded this nation to evangelize the world in the last days because other nations had rejected him and His word. I reminded Him that if He allowed the U.S. to fail or be overrun by a foreign nation that the other nations would think that He wasn’t powerful enough to cause America to stand. I found myself repenting of all our sins as a nation and asking for His mercy and grace to be upon us all. With tears, I pled with our Father God to please spare our nation and pour out His mighty Holy Ghost upon us. I had a deep sense that He would revive us again as a Godly nation. I prayed and continue to pray for all in authority in our country. With tears, I prayed for godly leaders to be raised up in our nation and in the church that would bring back a respect for the Bible and our Father God.

Preaching and Teaching - While praying, the Lord told me that when someone taught the Bible without praying and seeking Him first, it was giving the people who heard information, but it would not have the anointing behind it to change their lives. It would be mental and soulical information only and the people would mentally agree but no lasting spiritual change would occur. Jesus told me that those who pray and preach what He tells them to would have the anointing of God that would cause His Word to penetrate the human spirit and bring lasting change to the people who heard.

PRAYER: The only solution to the problems of our nation is found in the church through prayer to our Father God in the name of Jesus Christ. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

I realize the church needs a balanced spiritual diet of God’s Word to grow but extreme situations require extreme measures to bring things back into balance. What we should be doing right now is to preach and teach on prayer and holding prayer meetings for our nation.

Demonic Powers: We also need to preach and teach on the authority of the believer and command the devil to take his hands off our nation, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:18-19)

I had a vision while praying and saw a foreign nation that was making plans to attack the U.S. Prayer is and will stop this. I don’t think it wise to say all I saw in the spirit but I do know the church can stop this in prayer. I saw the planes fly into the Trade Towers and Pentagon nine months before it happened and those in that prayer meeting can give witness to it. We must pray and these things will be stopped.

VICTORY IS SURE: Victory is sure for the church of the Lord Jesus Christ as they pray and exercise their God given rights! We cannot fail and over Satan we have prevailed!

I kindly request that you join me in prayer about these things and together we will shout the victory!

Liberal Media Censors Christian Broadcaster

Christian Political Views No Comments

The Tribune Broadcasting Company, owners of the Chicago Tribune and the WGN Cable Network have effectively censored Kenneth Copeland from preaching what he wants to preach, and saying what he wants to say. Even though Brother Copeland’s organization paid for the airtime in question; and freedom of speech declares that he can say what he wants, they have consistaently dropped his programs from the channel because they disagree with his content. It is fascinating to me that liberals like to get on their “high horse” about freedom of speech, until free speech of others makes them uncomfortable, then they are all for denying free speech. It is “political correctness” gone crazy!

Here is a letter I received, as a partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries:

Believer’s Voice of Victory to Leave WGN

“Dear Bill,

Since 1992, the Believer’s Voice of Victory broadcast has had as one of its media outlets the WGN television network, based in Chicago, Ill. Many times during the years we’ve broadcast on WGN, our program has either been replaced or pre-empted due to content. Programs that the network has apparently found objectionable include ones that mention the following: abortion, understanding socialism and comments regarding government programs and taxes, just to name a few.

KCM understands that WGN is privately owned by Tribune Broadcasting Company, and as part of its policy it has the right to not air content that is, in its opinion, unsuitable. Since the time we began broadcasting on WGN, we have paid $30 million for airtime. With that in mind, one would think WGN would have been more flexible with its censorship policies. But that has not been the case. We believe it is in the best interest of the Partners and Friends of Kenneth Copeland Ministries to air its last broadcast on WGN on Nov. 25, 2011.

As we believe in the importance of the broadcasts that we air, and to ensure that all who choose to will be able to view BVOV in its entirety, we are happy to confirm that the Believer’s Voice of Victory telecast will continue to air on 138 local network stations nationwide, plus 401 TBN stations (and affiliates) as well as 92 individual Daystar stations to the same viewing audience that the previous network covered.

Further, we are in the process of exploring the options of airing on additional networks as well, to broaden our coverage to more cities across America. You can always find local station information online at kcm.org/tvlisting

and on the back cover of the BVOV magazine. If you are not able to get the broadcast in your area after this change with WGN,
please contact us via email (partners@kcm.org); by phone at 800-600-7395; or write to Kenneth Copeland Ministries, Fort Worth, TX 76192. As always, BVOV may be viewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week free and on demand by visiting kcm.org.

Campus Crusade for Christ Drops “Christ” From It’s Name

Christian Political Views No Comments

So what is a Christian group that drops “Christ” from it’s name. In my opinion, it is no longer a Christian group! Why are they dropping the term “Christ?” Political correctness. It “offends” both Christians and non-Christians, they say, so they are dropping it.

Campus Ministry Drops ‘Christ’ From Name

“One of the nation’s most prominent Christian ministries has decided to take Christ out of its name – a move that has generated cries of political correctness from within the evangelical community.

Campus Crusade for Christ International announced this week that it will change the name of its U.S. Operations to ‘Cru’ in early 2012.

‘We felt like our name was getting in the way of accomplishing our mission,’ said Steve Sellers, the vice president for Campus Crusade, noting that the ministry will still be committed to ‘proclaiming Christ around the world.’

Sellers said researchers found that 9 percent of Christians and 20 percent of non-Christians were alienated by the name Campus Crusade for Christ.”

Unless Christians “get over” kind of stupid acquiescence to the world, we will never be the champions for God that He wants us to be! I was never in Campus Crusade for Christ in college, I was in Full Gospel Student Fellowship, but if I was a previous member, I would let them know that they are misguided and missing the mark!

Free Speech is Free, Unless You Quote the Bible!

Christian Political Views No Comments

A school district in California had an interesting money raising idea… have people buy memorial bricks and allow them to put phrases on them, then they were to be used in a wall at the school. BUT, some folks decided to quote Bible verses… well, we can’t have students see Bible verses… so they are scrapping the whole idea and returning $45,000.00 in cash! Wow! That Bible stuff must be REALLY dangerous!

California School District Cancels Fundraiser After Submission of Scripture-Inscribed Bricks

“A California school district has canceled a fundraising program featuring memorial bricks, scuttling proceeds of $45,000, after two women submitted Bible verses in their tributes.

The two women, Lou Ann Hart and Sheryl Caronna, had filed a court complaint in January against the Desert Sands Unified School District after the district blocked them from placing the Bible verses on bricks to be installed in walkways at Palm Desert High School in Palm Desert, Calif., about 10 miles east of Palm Springs. The women sought an injunction against the district to compel it to allow the scripture bricks.

Instead, school district officials have decided to rescind the fundraiser and refund money of every community group or individual who purchased a memorial brick, according to a court filing last week with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

The move has angered advocates of religious freedom in the public sphere.

‘Christians should be allowed to express themselves on public school campuses just like everyone else,’ David Cortman, an attorney for the Alliance Defense Fund, said in a written statement. Alliance Defense Fund, a conservative Christian organization, initiated the lawsuit for Hart and Caronna.

‘It is cowardly to shut down everyone’s participation in this program simply out of animosity toward Christian speech,’ Cortman said. ‘There is absolutely nothing unconstitutional about a Bible verse on a brick when a school opens up a program for anyone to express a personal message. The school could simply have allowed the Bible verses, but instead, it chose to punish everyone.’

Hundreds of other messages had been accepted for the bricks, Cortman’s organization said, including inspirational and religious themes, such as a quote from Mahatma Gandhi and a Bible quotation — ‘Yes, it is possible’ — written in Spanish.

Hart, of Palm Desert, and Caronna, of Rancho Mirage, were informed after submitting their bricks that they would not be included because the religious content risked an unconstitutional establishment of religion, Alliance Defense Fund officials said.”

An Interesting “Thought Experiment!”

Christian Political Views No Comments

This is neat. Think of it as a thought experiment. Imagine a regular swimming pool, with a “deep end” and a “shallow end.” There is a given amount of water in the swimming pool in total. That amount of water, we shall say, represents the total value of the economy. Basically, the total value of all of money available in the economy. If more water is actually produced (outside the system) and added to the economy, then, that would be the equivalent of adding water to the pool from an outside source.

However, this is not what is being proposed by the current administration. They say, instead, “Tax the rich!” Then, via programs of various sorts, they propose to give that money confiscated from “the rich” to “the poor.” This is the proposed plan.

However, let’s look at our pool. If we remove water from the deep end of the pool, and carry it around, and dump it into the shallow end off the pool, what happens? Nothing. The water level simply evens out. I can dutifully scoop up water all day from the deep end, and dump it in the shallow end, and, in the end, I will have accomplished nothing.

So it is with taking money from what “the rich” have produced and giving it to “the poor.” No water is really ever added, only re-distributed. Which, interestly enough, is what Obama said he wanted to do before he was elected. So, why should anyone be surprised?

Obama Chooses Not to Enforce the Law

Christian Political Views No Comments

Not a surprising headline, actually, there are a lot of laws that Obama has chosen not to enforce, or simply ignore. In my humble, personal opinion, his is one of the most lawless administrations ever. But, this one is rather amazing! Here is an excerpt from an email from Champlain Klingenschmitt:

“Yesterday the Obama Administration ordered the Justice Department to stop defending the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act [DOMA] which prohibits homosexual ‘marriage’ and defines traditional marriage between one man and one woman. All 50 states may soon be forced to welcome homosexual ‘marriage’ in federal court, unless their individual members of Congress intervene. The Hill newspaper reports U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder left open the possibility that individual Congressmen would be permitted to defend DOMA law, if they choose to join lawsuits in place of the Obama Administration.

Associated Press reports, ‘In a major policy reversal, the Obama administration said Wednesday it will no longer defend the constitutionality of a federal law banning recognition of same-sex marriage. Attorney General Eric Holder said President Barack Obama has concluded that the administration cannot defend the federal law that defines marriage as only between a man and a woman.’

At a December news conference, Obama said his position on gay marriage is ‘constantly evolving.’ [It's not evolving. He wants gay marriage.] But Traditional Values Coalition Director Andrea Lafferty said, ‘This unprecedented power grab demands the immediate reaction of the United States House of Representatives, who must do everything possible to fight back against what can only be described as a despotic and alarming attack on the rule of law.’

Congress has authority to defend traditional marriage DOMA lawsuits if the President won’t. Will your Congressman defend traditional marriage?”

An interesting question. Will anyone support the rule of law in this country? On this issue, illegal immigration, and a host of other fronts? Are we a nation of laws, or have we spiraled down into an anarchy? Here’s a link to a message I ministered on “The Mystery of Lawlessness.”

Click on this link to urge Congress to enforce the law, even if the President won’t!

Victory! North Carolina reverses ban, permits prayers “in Jesus name!”

Christian Life Issues, Christian Political Views No Comments

NC banned prayer in Jesus’ name over six months ago in the Legislature. Now, the ban has been reversed! I just got this email from Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, and his “Pray in Jesus’ Name” campaign:

“I have GREAT news. YOU just scored another victory for Jesus’ name. Because YOU signed our free petition in July, August, and January, and we faxed over 250,000 petitions to all 170 members of the North Carolina State House and Senate, they have reversed their ban and restored the right to pray in Jesus’ name before legislative sessions.

I just got off the phone with North Carolina state legislator Paul Stam, who announced the North Carolina legislature has now reversed their 6 month ban on prayers ending ‘in Jesus name’ and the new policy is to never screen or censoring prayers, period.

‘We’ve been in session four days now, and on the first day a former Governor [Martin] led the prayer, and he prayed ‘in Jesus name,” said Stam. ‘We also have a new House Speaker [Tom Tillis, R-Mecklenberg County] whose policy is to simply not preview or censor the prayers, and let the person pray however they want to pray. The election made a difference, since we have a new [Republican] majority, and a new government, so we have a new prayer policy too.’

When I asked if this was a written policy, he said ‘the new Speaker’s verbal policy is simply to not pre-screen the prayers. The previous Speaker simply misinterpreted the written policy, but now he’s gone, since his party lost the election.’ In July last year, Democrat Speaker Joe Hackney had improperly fired Pastor Ron Baity as honorary chaplain because the pastor prayed ‘in Jesus name.’

I called Pastor Ron Baity who said he has not yet received an apology for his wrongful termination, but he is glad the policy was reversed. ‘My own representative Larry Brown reached out to me and invited me to come back again and pray in Jesus’ name on the floor, and I hope they can get approval for me to do that in two weeks,’ Pastor Baity said, thanking me for how YOU stood with him by signing a petition to all North Carolina legislators. “I think it’s a good victory. It’s a whole new attitude in this [state] government since the election. This new legislature may even allow the people to finally vote on the [traditional] marriage amendment. We’ve been fighting that battle for seven years.’

North Carolina now makes the 10th major victory we’ve fought and won for the right to pray ‘in Jesus name,’ after previously helping to reverse bans in New York, California, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Oklahoma, Virginia, and for U.S. Military Chaplains.”

Praise God! This is not only a victory for believers, but also against government censorship of free speech!
